Human civilization has been living in groups for years now. They have been hunting and farming together. This working collectively has ensured humans are the most dominant species in this world.
Humans have bought and rented flats and are living collectively in a cooperative society. They are demonstrating the same characteristics that they had during pre-historic times.
I was talking to my neighbour about the rules in our society, especially about Tenant’s having less family members, so the burden on society resources will be less. From the society point of view, I understand this, as all the facilities in the society will be over-used. But from the tenant and owner point of view, you cannot tell the tenant ‘Don’t have kids’, as the number of people in the family will increase and you will break this society rule.
Another society nearby wanted to ensure that the tenant’s don’t own a car. I understand if they are thinking of the limited parking spaces, but again, if the tenant buys a car after they come and stay. You cannot remove the tenant. I don’t think the car has a bathroom for them to stay in.
A hilarious rule was about husband and wife not having fights. The society wants to maintain the peace in the society has banned husband and wife fights. I see that the coffee shop outside the society has got very noisy.
Another weird rule is not to have matching crockery with any other families staying in the society. This must be due to families unknowingly stealing from other families to complete their crockery sets.
The age-old practise of taking a small bowl and borrowing sugar and curd from neighbours has been banned in the society. I believe this must be to increase the business of the internal grocery store.
If you cook interesting things and the aroma reaches the neighbours, they must be invited to try the delicious food.
To implement these rules, the society has implemented a fine for Rs 100, if any rule is broken for the 1st time and Rs. 1000 for the 2nd time and the 3rd time the society will give up trying and let you do whatever you want.
Can you list the most weird and interesting rules your society follows in the comments below?
